A recent study by Rupantaran Nepal's Nepal Climate Change Support Project (NCCSP) has shown Jajarkot as a highly vulnerable district in terms of climate change impacts. Jajarkot has been ranked in this category after assessing against 20 different indicators based on vulnerability functions (exposure, adaptive capacity and sensitivity). The study also reports that a total of nine districts across Nepal have been recognized as being highly vulnerable; Mugu, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Dolakha, Udaypur, Saptari, Ramechap and Lamjung.
Suwanauli, Pajharu, Archhane, Dhime and Laha VDCs have been selected for preparing Local Adaptation Plans for action (LAPAs). Accordingly the concerning stakeholders of these VDCs will prepare plans to identify measures in reducing climate change hazards and their associated threats.
